Vocational Training Project – Teddy Bear Making: The Rotary Club of Chunnakam Heritage, in partnership with the Velanai Divisional Secretariat, successfully organized a vocational training program on teddy bear making. This joint initiative aimed to provide participants with creative and income-generating skills, promoting self-employment and entrepreneurship within the community. The project was graciously sponsored by Rtn. Vengadashramrajh, whose generous support was instrumental in making this program a success. Building Creative Skills and Fostering Self-Employment
Vocational training equips individuals with hands-on, marketable abilities that translate directly into micro-enterprise opportunities. Soft-toy making is an accessible, creative craft that allows participants to start cottage-based manufacturing with minimal capital investment:

Practical Craftsmanship: Participants received step-by-step guidance on fabric cutting, machine stitching, stuffing, finishing, and quality control for handmade teddy bears.

Entrepreneurship & Livelihood: The workshop covered basic product pricing, marketing strategies, and local sales avenues, encouraging attendees to launch home-based businesses.

Community Economic Upliftment: By acquiring a new trade, participants—especially women and aspiring entrepreneurs—gained the confidence and financial tools needed to support their households.
