Supporting Flood-Affected Families

We have again distributed 300 Rathal breads to flood-affected families in the Navatkuli Maha Vidyalayam today. This initiative was generously sponsored by IPDG. Sushena Ranatunga. Our sincere thanks to him for the support.

At the Rotary Club of Chunnakam Heritage (Rotary District 3220, Sri Lanka & Maldives), rapid disaster response, hunger relief, and unwavering community solidarity remain paramount to our humanitarian service. When continuous rains and localized flooding displace vulnerable households, access to basic necessities and cooking facilities is abruptly cut off, making immediate emergency food assistance vital to supporting families through challenging times.
Continuing our ongoing disaster relief efforts, our club mobilized today to distribute 300 loaves of fresh Rathal bread directly to flood-affected families sheltered at Navatkuli Maha Vidyalayam.

Temporary relief centers like school shelters house dozens of families who have had to leave their inundated homes behind. In such emergencies, providing immediate, ready-to-eat provisions plays a crucial role in stabilizing household well-being:
