Hope on Wheels: Gifting Bicycles to Empower Underprivileged Children
Today, through the Hope on Wheels project, we gifted bicycles to children living under the poverty line, helping them ride towards brighter futures. Grateful to the Rotary International District 2982 for making this journey possible. Together, we are spreading hope, one pedal at a time! We sincerely thank the Governor, District Secretary, and RMB Chair for graciously taking time from their busy schedules to attend and support our events.
Education is the most powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty, yet thousands of deserving students face daily obstacles just getting to their classrooms. At the Rotary Club of Chunnakam Heritage (Rotary District 3220, Sri Lanka & Maldives), ensuring unhindered access to education and youth empowerment is central to our humanitarian mission.
Today marked a deeply rewarding milestone as we successfully executed our flagship community initiative, the Hope on Wheels project. Through this project, we distributed brand-new bicycles to school-going children from underprivileged families living below the poverty line across our region.

For many children in rural and semi-urban communities, walking long distances in harsh weather is a daily hurdle that leads to exhaustion, late arrivals, and high dropout rates. A bicycle transforms a child’s daily life by making education accessible, safe, and dependable.
